@Kai Lo – I try not to undersell the blog. I feel that banner ads are worsening the user experience so I am a bit careful with accepting random companies. See my post on what I think about banner ads.

@jan_geronimo – Thanks for sharing your experience. It is nothing to be worried about, I am sure your readers would love to hear about your progress. So I would recommend to do it when you feel you have something valuable to say.

@Gilang Ramadhan – Yes, definitely. You must do the hard work first and then when something good happens you can share it and then possibly get a reward. There are several interesting articles for new bloggers in my blogging advice archive.

I have gained a decent number of readers who keep me company since then. Oddly enough, I have been avoiding mention of my progress. I’m a little leery I might sound as too self-involved.

I now realize it’s not a good tactic. Your post shows me it can be a good thing for my blog. Sharing stories like these can inspire other bloggers who face similar challenges. And perhaps I can indirectly help them overcome some issues by showing specific examples how I overcame them.
