Get Traffic By Building Your Blog Awareness
Brand awareness is a marketing concept that refers to a consumer knowing of a brand’s existence. We can translate this into blog traffic building and call it blog awareness. Building Google PageRank and search engine rankings is a long-term project that must be worked on regularly for long period of time as described earlier. It can be weeks or months before you start seeing results.
Something that can be done to start getting traffic to your blog in the meanwhile, is build your blog awareness by posting comments on other blogs and discussion forums. You should look to comment on blogs and forums focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in visiting your blog.
Try surfing the Internet or searching Google for websites, blogs, and discussion forums relevant to your blog site content. Subscribe the relevant blogs to your RSS reader and join the forums. Follow what is going on, what is the discussion about and post a comment if you can contribute with something useful.
Blog commenting systems and discussion forums allow you to link to your blog website from the comments or forum messages that you post. Post a link to your website as a signature and/or include a link to the relevant blog posts from your blog where people can find more information about the topic discussed. This is how people will find your blog and this will help in building your blog awareness and building inbound links and blog traffic.
Work on these visitors and try to get them to stick as long as possible on your blog and get them to subscribe to your RSS news feed.
A good link to look for blog discussions online is BackType. Join BackType to get an overview of relevant discussion taking place online and also to have an overview over all the comments you have posted in the different blogs.
